A key enterprise communications leadership position, the director, CEO communications, is responsible for the conceptualization, research, development and execution of internal and external communications for the Ochsner Health President & CEO.Working closely with the senior leaders of enterprise communications, the office of strategy management, division heads and other key leaders, the director will capture and refine executive voice, key messages and original, strategic content for the CEO that remains consistent across internal and external platforms and audiences. The director is responsible for drafting briefings, remarks, talking points, motivational messaging, video scripts, correspondence, social media, board messages and creative slide presentations and supports the CEO at on-site events and engagements.
As an integrated member of both the enterprise communications team and the office of strategy management team, the director will office with the executive team and maintain dotted-line matrix reporting to the CEO’s chief of staff while maintaining direct reporting to the enterprise communications team. Together, the CEO communications director, senior leaders of enterprise communications and office of strategy management, chief marketing and communications officer and the chief corporate development officer will function as an open and cohesive team, operating with elevated levels of respect, trust, transparency, and collaboration.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Establishedtrack recordwriting for high-profile organizational leaders and successfully positioning and developing a unique voice for these leaders in verbal and written communications.
Demonstrated initiative, strong attention to detail, strong project management and organizational skills, and advanced ability to analyze information and make recommendations.
Proactively seeks clarity and insights from stakeholders and subject matter experts, applying learnings to create persuasive and engaging internal and external communications.
Maintains a high standard of accuracy and professionalism in all written and visual content, with superior level of detail, fact checking, and due diligence applied to all research, content,materialsand statistics.
Exceptional ability to manage interviews, editorial topic development, strategy development, communications plan development, speechwriting, copyediting, and proofreading for high-level, public,confidentialand sensitive communications documents.
Must be comfortable and experienced working with technology: AI tools, content management systems, social media, all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint. Advanced PowerPoint design experience isrequired.
Strong collaborator, confident advocate, positive teamplayerand strategic advisor who easily pivots and adapts to constantly changing scenarios and navigates conflict toward solutions while being resilient to challenges and setbacks.
Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to interact comfortably and build wide ranging relationships from staff members to senior leadership through a culture of trust,transparencyand empowerment.

Job Duties:
Research and draft speeches, talking points, scripts, correspondence for the CEO’s external and internal engagements, working with enterprise communications and office of strategy management teams on content,proofreadingand editing to ensure clarity, brand alignment, and message consistency.
Support key opportunities for the CEO to engage with internal and external audiences, including conferences, panels, and media interviews.
Workindependently andwith design vendors to develop high-quality PowerPoint presentations tailored for the CEO's speaking events, meetings, and conferences.
Create, schedule, and manage posts for the CEO’s social media accounts, andmonitorsocial media trends and conversations relevant to the CEO’s interests and industry.
Work directly with the CEO’s executive assistant for all scheduling,planningand coordinating ofCEO’scommunications engagements.
Prepare briefing materials for the CEO, including background information, keymessagesandlogisticsfor the CEO's speaking engagements, media appearances, and rounding visits.
Attend all system events and leadership meetings as one of the on-site communications team members.
Stayup-to-datewith the latest communication tools and technologies to enhance the CEO’s public presence.
Work effectively and independently within the Inside Ochsner platform to build and deploy content for the CEO.
Engage in team meetings, workshops and professional development opportunities andparticipatein routine team content reviews,proofreadingand editing.
Maintain constant state of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality while managing frequent flow of and rapidly changing sensitive information.

Education
Required –Bachelor'sdegree in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, Business, PoliticalScienceor a related degree.Advanceddegree in Communications, Business, Healthcare Administration or similar is an advantage.
Work Experience
Required – 10 years in communications within a large, geographically dispersed healthcare system, government agency, armed forces, nationalbrandor agency setting.
Location
In-person, five days per week at OMC-New Orleans. Occasional overnight travel is a requirement.
