Physician - Medical Director of Hospital Medicine - Full Time Academic

Ochsner LSU Health System – Monroe Medical Center & LSU Health Sciences Center is seeking an experienced and motivated leader for Medical Director of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine at LSU Health Shreveport, an integrated teaching hospital and health system in partnership with Ochsner Health. Position would include clinical work as a hospitalist, publishing the schedule for faculty hospitalists, creating/tracking/incentivizing quality metrics for the hospital medicine program. Responsibilities would also involve teaching house staff and medical students, ensuring learner evaluation completion, annual performance evaluations on all hospitalists. The position would include the role of Director of Quality overseeing the hospital’s quality of care and leading quality improvement initiatives. 

Qualifications:

• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine by ABIM or Family Medicine.
• Academic experience preferred but not required.
• Five years’ experience as a hospitalist.
• Excellent skills with regard to clinical medicine, leadership, communication, teaching.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
• A forward-thinking, collaborative leadership style that promotes growth through faculty recruitment, community engagement, and development of innovative clinical programs.
• Faculty rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher.  Rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
